The primary function of the Applications Analyst is to analyze, evaluate, administer and support current and projected computer software applications for firm-wide technology solutions and systems. The Applications Analyst is a member of a team that supports and serves attorneys, who performs in accordance with Holland & Hart’s standards and core values.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of revised or new computer software application systems, along with organizational and procedural workflow plans and methods.
Work with senior Applications Analysts to recommend upgrades and determine appropriate upgrade versions and schedules as appropriate.
Work with end users and other technology experts within the firm to fully leverage technology efficiencies and enhance productivity.
Oversee or assist with the installation of upgrades and patches to computer software application systems; and ensure that the applications are optimized and maintained properly for data integrity and reliability.
Keep current with general applications, legal specific software, and technology developments.
Provide tier-two support for various computer software application systems and determine causes of application malfunctions, involving both hardware and software.
Assist in contacting software vendors/manufacturers to resolve issues and make immediate corrections or recommendations for improvements to senior Analysts and/or Managers.
Document resolutions, educate end users as needed on resolutions, and ensure resolution documentation is readily available to IT Department Staff.
Aid the Support Desk, End Users and senior Analysts for both client and server based applications.
Continually create, write, and maintain thorough documentation and technical components for all computer software applications to include engineering details, implementation/installation procedures, usage policies, maintenance procedures and workflow.
Prepare special analyses and/or special reports as requested by the senior Applications Analysts, Managers, or Directors.
Create and maintain procedures detailing the deployment of client related or client accessed systems and assist with the setup and maintenance of external user accounts using Active Directory.
Collaborate with the litigation support team on production and management of documents, manipulation of data, copying data, and preparing transfers of data.
Assist with computerized case management and litigation support systems, implementation and maintenance of computer applications, and other services for legal practice areas.
Additional technical, procedural, documentation and administrative functions will be added as necessary, and as technology within the firm evolves with time.
Excellent computer and Internet skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop hardware and Operating systems.
A solid understanding of Microsoft networking and technologies.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook) and SharePoint.
Knowledge of SQL Server, SQL Management Studio and/or Transact-SQL Statements.
The ability to work with and administrate large and complex volumes of data in various data sources.
Working knowledge of Remote desktop and virtualization software, patch management techniques, Application Solutions, and various scripting languages (Batch and VBScript).
Excellent oral and written communications including the ability to work with and translate end user requirements into workable technology solutions.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment without supervision, and accept accountability and involvement with projects.
Maintain client and law firm confidentiality, and exercise independent judgment and discretion.
Two or more years of experience in a law firm, with familiarity of the litigation process, and applications used in a legal practice.
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required.
