GrayRobinson, a full-service law and lobbying firm with attorneys and government relations professionals throughout 15 offices spanning the State of Florida and Washington, DC, has an immediate opening for a Director of IT Operations. This salaried position is based in Orlando, reports to the Chief Information Officer and directly supervises 2 - 4 managers with a combined team of 15 – 20 employees.
The Director of IT Operations is responsible for the implementation and operation of all technology and support infrastructure deployed at the firm, which includes datacenter, network, server and storage, enterprise applications, voice and video services, disaster recovery, support and training, endpoint management, and other technologies and work processes. The successful candidate will participate in strategic planning, budgeting and be responsible for project management and supervision of both exempt and non-exempt staff within their area of responsibility.
This position will partner with the Chief Information Officer to establish a culture of service excellence within the department while maintaining a strong focus on operational tempo and service reliability. The incumbent will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of industry standard IT systems, solutions and support processes and will partner with team members to drive technology adoption, as well as work process and best-practice standardization. This position will ensure that monitoring, reporting tools and service contracts are appropriate for critical technology systems, and create and improve both systems and project management methodologies across all disciplines to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of infrastructure, application and support projects. Additionally, this position will recommend and implement innovative improvements that enable legal professionals to deliver world-class work product, negotiate favorable contracts on behalf of the firm, and collaborate with others to establish and maintain the technology roadmap with clear goals that align with business objectives.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline and have 10+ years of related work experience with at least 3 years in progressive leadership positions. This position also requires 3 years’ experience with AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms, experience with high-availability IT infrastructure and enterprise applications, and experience with process improvement and workflow development. Proven ability to manage and foster a team-oriented environment, as well as excellent project management and organizational skills, with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills are also required.
