This position is under direct supervision of the Attorney Development & Recruitment Manager and performs administrative duties for Attorney Development & Recruitment department.
Implement the recruitment process for law students with a focus on the summer program and on-campus interviewing, scheduling interviews, sending offer letters and new hire forms/packets, establishing orientation/training schedules, and maintaining relationships with law schools.
Coordinate the recruitment process for experienced attorneys (lateral associates, counsel, partners and foreign interns), students and clerks, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews and maintaining relationships with search firms. Coordinate recruiting efforts with other offices as appropriate.
Implement on-campus and in-office interviews including developing candidate interview schedules, compilation of promotional materials as requested, on and off-site recruiting events, and preparation of information packets for on-campus and in-office interviews.
Implement the summer program, events, evaluations, training orientation; coordinate assignments with work attorney assignment coordinators.
Coordinate meetings of the Hiring Committee and Summer Program Committee.
Survey preparation, data compilation and report generation, such as Candidate Status Report, Annual Associate Survey for Associates Committee, NALP form, firm surveys, website components, orientation binders, and other recruiting materials.
Assist the departmental Manager with implementing diversity and women’s initiatives for the office and other events planning, as needed.
Attorney Professional Development
Assist with coordination and scheduling of in-house training programs for speakers, communication and RSVP process, A/V, catering, materials, evaluations, CLE administration; interact with other offices on logistics and CLE for multi-office programming.
Assist with data entry, administration and reporting for CE Manager (CLE tracking software).
Assist with attorney human resources issues such as leaves of absence, separations, reclassifications to part-time status, employment verifications, personnel file records, office transfers, etc.
Assist with coordination and scheduling of the oral review process for DC attorneys.
Specific Technical Skills:
Typing speed of 50 wpm, preferred. Familiarity with MS Office products, including MS Word and MS Excel, required. Familiarity with LawCruit database software, preferred. Familiarity with CE Manager database software, preferred.
Must be disciplined and able to work independently. Ability to effectively and diplomatically communicate and interact with all personnel levels, outside vendors, law school representatives, and candidates. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with discretion. Able to accomplish multiple tasks, prioritize, and adjust to changing priorities with strict attention to detail.
Normal office environment requiring extensive use of typical business equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, fax, copier). Ability to lift 25 pounds. Travel to campuses and other offices of firm, as needed.
BA or BS required or equivalent work experience.
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
1 to 3+ years of law firm, professional, or academic recruiting experience required.
