Assist with the preparation and drafting of US visa applications/petitions in conjunction with the immigration lawyer managing the case.
Liaise with clients in the preparation of their visa applications/petitioners and the status of pending petitions/application.
Update client case management system as required.
Draft forms relating to the visa application or petition, support letter, cover letters/petition briefs.
Book interview appointments at US Embassy or Consulate. Liaise with the US Embassy or Consulate as required.
Prepare applications and petitions to be sent to various US government agencies via UK post or Fedex, as required. Schedule courier deliveries as required. Track applications and petitions to ensure they are received.
Assist with US immigration legal research as required. Assist with training new paralegals and legal assistants in US visa and nationality law.
Keep up with US immigration law and procedure.
Initial contact with client prior to attorney speaking to potential clients as required.
Oversee some billing and accounting function, e.g. invoicing, chasing debtors, taking payments via credit/debit card, keeping receipts and updating our accounting system to ensure the active clients are paying their invoices.
High attention to detail.
Ability to handle a large caseload.
Strong client communication and writing skills.
1-2 years of experience working with a US immigration firm on employment and family-based visa applications.
Ideally must have a UK or Irish passport or a UK work visa to work in the UK. We will consider a remote worker for the right candidate.
