We are seeking a Bilingual (Spanish) Immigration Associate Attorney with experience in Removal Defense, as well as general family-based immigration and naturalization matters.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing before the EOIR, BIA, USCIS, and DOS.
This position offers a dynamic opportunity to handle complex and meaningful immigration cases involving removal proceedings, family-based petitions, naturalization, waivers, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in removal and deportation proceedings before the EOIR and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
- Attend and prepare clients for USCIS interviews and appearances before other federal agencies.
- Draft and file motions, appeals, legal briefs, asylum applications (affirmative and defensive), waivers, and adjustment of status applications.
- Conduct master calendar and individual hearings, advocating effectively on behalf of clients.
- Demonstrate analytical ability, logical reasoning, and sound judgment in managing complex immigration matters.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of immigrant visa petitions and consular processing.
- Exhibit thorough knowledge of family-based petitions, waivers, adjustment of status, and asylum-based petitions, including consular processing.
- Litigate immigration court issues such as 42A, 42B, asylum, and CAT claims.
- Provide clear and consistent communication and legal guidance to clients throughout their case.
- Collaborate with paralegals, experts, interpreters, and other team members to build strong legal strategies.
- Stay current on immigration law, policy developments, and relevant case law.
- Assist with business-based immigration petitions (e.g., EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, PERM) – preferred but not required.
